Roccalberti
Roccalberti è un paese tipico di Garfagnana ; a parere di molti storici locali, la famiglia Bertacchi né fù originaria e né prese il nome. Infatti, quando i signori Alberti furono cacciati del loro feudo da Castruccio Castracani (circa 1350), ebbero per nomignolo Albertacchi. Per aferesi, Albertacchi divenne Bertacchi trà 1350 e 1450.
Il paese attuale venne costruito nella cinta del castello medioevale, del quale, purtroppo, non restono che ruderi. Molte case sembrano abbandonate, anche sé qualche abitante risiede sempre nella cinta. Un paese più recente si è inalzato à livello inferiore dei ruderi.

Roccalberti
Roccalberti est le nom d'un village en Garfagnane, duquel, selon plusieurs sources, la famille Bertacchi tira son nom. En effet, lorsque les seigneurs Alberti furent chassés de leur fief par Castruccio Castracani (vers 1350), ils furent appelés dérisoirement Albertacchi (mauvais, pauvres Alberti). Par aphérèse, Albertacchi devint Bertacchi entre 1350 et 1450.
Le village actuel s'est construit à l'intérieur de l'enceinte du château médiéval qui, malheureusement, ne survit qu'à l'état de ruine. Beaucoup de maisons sont abandonnées, même si visiblement quelques habitants y résident toujours. Un village plus moderne s'est hissé en contrebas des ruines.

Roccalberti
Roccalberti is a typical Garfagnana's village. In the common opinion of most historians, the langobard family Alberti was lords of this castel. When the family was chased away by Castruccio Castracani (about 1350), she received the name Albertacchi (poor, bad Alberti). Between 1350 and 1450, Albertacchi became Bertacchi.
The actual village was built inside the medieval castel ; unfortunately, this castel is now totally in ruins. A lot of house are deserted, but some people live always inside the old ruins. A second modern village was built below the ruins.
